I was born on a rainy day, my father was skinned after his death, my mother was buried under the Blackwater River, and my grandmother said I was born with the life of a stern spirit and came to claim my life. I was not treated well by the living all my life. But my master said I was the best heir to the trade because the dead loved me. I'm a folk shaver, the last of my line. A shaver, shaving the living, cutting off the future, saluting the dead, asking for luck or fortune.
